Christian's Capturing of Light

Heaven's Rays! I took this picture in Strawberry Pinnacles, Utah. The sun is centered on the bottom line and the picture is split into three distinct horizontal sections. It also shows great color and leading lines with the light rays. Illusion This is the light fixture in my Aunt's bathroom. Now, this photo shows Asymmetry although it's disguised as symmetrical because on first glance you'd think you'd get a similar picture if you mirrored a half, on closer inspection the lightbulbs aren't all the same size, hence the name "Illusion." This also demonstrates fun types of lighting and a good background. Pastry Rainbow This was taken at a family-owned bakery in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. This picture has a great pattern going on with the repeating rainbow on the horizontal Naga Clutter This was taken just at my desk and it's an example of a distracting and bad background. Naga Clean Just at my desk in Utah, with a nice background that doesn't distract from the subject.

Mountain Rise! I took this picture just barely last weekend on the freeway coming home from my Aunt's home. The sun is positioned on the bottom right cross of the lines and that's what draws your eyes to that, so it follows the Rule of Thirds. Advancing. Wouldn't YOU like to know? What do you love about photography? - I love the concept of being able to capture bits of time, experiences, memories, and love. That ability of being able to do that with something I can hold in the palm of my hand just speaks to me on such a deep level. - I love this image because to me it captures someone who I love, wholly being themselves, as well as appreciating the beauty around us.
